Mt. Baker

Today the sunlight hit the trees just perfect. Fog was hiding the lower valley and the air was clean.

Tiny Parts

The world is an ongoing canvas.  The little grains in the wood. Chipping paint. Rust on a lamp. Sun that highlights green leaves. All that is beautiful and sublime. Brief and difficult to capture. Occasionally the beauty lingers, like a huge rusting ship. Often the majesty is fleeting and ends with the failing light. I find it difficult to capture all the beauty. Sometimes it is overwhelming to see all this magic in the world. Frustrating that other people don't see it.

Tree Light

Mesmerizing trees. Sunlight playing in the leaves. That dappled, fragmented sun. I could sit for hours and watch the leaves move with the wind.

Piano

I can’t remember a time when music wasn’t a part of my life.

I have faint memories of my childhood home smelling of Lemon Pledge, the Eagles on the record player and Mom cleaning the house. I would sit down at the Piano and make up my own songs, refusing to learn notes. Later in life the guitar proved to be a faithful companion. My old tobacco guitar followed me through college. I still have her, good old Essie. But for some reason no instrument can move my soul like the piano.

I found this old piano/organ in Lynden. I love the smell of it. Like old books. You can breath in the history, almost feel the emotions that have been tapped out in ivory keys. Just something about a piano.
